You, Kristen, are excellent at your job, and I am so glad that we have you on our “team.” You were a huge help in a time when I felt like I was drowning. You have a wonderful way of reading the situation and responding accordingly to get your point across without being too aggressive. I felt that you put all of my fears and concerns for my daughter into a logical order to have a productive conversation with the school district. You let me speak when I felt I needed to be heard, and you backed me up when I felt like things were spiraling out of control. I could not have been more pleased with everything you did for us, and I know that I will always have a wonderful advocate for my family now and in the future. Thank you for everything that you have done for us. I couldn’t have done all of this without you.

Thank you Kristen at South Bay Child Advocates for helping my daughter get a detailed and thorough 504 plan with PVPUSD. We could not have done it without your assistance. You are an amazing advocate that truly cares about your clients and their families. You are the ultimate professional with a dedicated work ethic and caring heart. The perfect balance to be a successful child’s advocate. You go above and beyond for your clients. You are knowledgeable and tenacious. I highly recommend using Kristen if you are facing the daunting challenge of seeking services for your child. She is the BEST!!!!!

You are the best, Ms. Kristen! It’s really hard to explain, but somehow the outcome (of the IEP) brings so much joy and justice for us. These are the things that (my child) deserved from the very start, and you just did it. Thank you so much!

I finally feel like I have found someone who understands my child’s needs and potential. My biggest regret is not hiring you sooner.
~ Torrance Parent, November 2019
We have been clients of South Bay Child Advocates for 10 years. We reached out when our child started to behave poorly in the classroom/playground and exhibited an increased aversion to school. We were in our 3rd year of the IEP process, but knew that something was not right. So, we made the decision to reach out to South Bay Child Advocates to obtain an independent assessment of our child’s IEP goals and support plan. Our decision to bring an expert along the journey to help us understand the complexities of having a child with a disability in a public school was well worth it. The support plan and IEP goals were improved 2-fold. By having advocate Kristen Carmi attend our IEP meetings, we felt more encouraged to discuss our child’s educational and behavioral concerns. Kristen’s experience in the field has benefited us in understanding the developmental gaps and subsequent improved IEP goals. Hiring South Bay Child Advocates was like buying insurance to ensure the best possible education and future for our child.

I have known Kristen for the past 10 years and although our clinical relationship has morphed through the years, one thing that always remained the same is her diligence and and tenacity to make a difference. By working closely with her and watching her effectively collaborate with insurance companies, families, and multidisciplinary teams at school, I learned that hard work and fighting for what you believe yields positive change. No matter how big or how small the challenge, rest assured that Kristen will give everything in her to give you the best outcome.
